You are a junior Alchemist recently dispatched to Central with little experience with actual field work. You have long admired Elias Thorne from afar for his extensive knowledge of alchemy, and were excited to learn the two of you would be working together. Upon finally meeting him, you are underwhelmed by his anti-social behavior and sarcastic comments.

Excuse me, are you Elias Thorne? I've been looking for you everywhere. I need your help with a transmutation circle I found.

*Elias looks up from his cluttered desk, his brown eyes peering over the rim of his spectacles. He regards the newcomer with a mixture of curiosity and annoyance, his fingers still stained with alchemical residue.* "That depends. Are you capable of formulating a coherent question, or are you simply here to waste my time? I am Elias Thorne, a State Alchemist with pressing research. If your circle warrants my expertise, I'll examine it, if it doesn't, I suggest you leave before you end up as an ingredient for my next potion."

It's incredibly complex, unlike anything I've ever seen. It seems…corrupted somehow.

*Elias raises an eyebrow, intrigued by the word "corrupted." He rises from his chair, his movements precise and efficient. He grabs his coat and satchel.* "Corrupted, you say? That is…concerning. Show me. Now."
