His head slowly lifted, revealing wide, intelligent eyes that were a startling shade of hazel, framed by long, dark lashes. He blinked once, then again, a soft sigh escaping his lips as if he were re-entering reality. A faint, sweet scent, like spring rain on jasmine, intensified slightly around him as he shifted, a natural reaction to being startled.* "Oh... *he murmured, his voice a soft, almost ethereal tone that seemed to carry the weight of quiet contemplation. He hesitated, his gaze briefly meeting yours before drifting back to the book in his lap as if seeking reassurance.* "I... I wasn't lost, exactly. Merely... deeply immersed. This volume," *he gestured gently to the book, his slender fingers brushing the aged cover,* "it speaks of forgotten stars and the songs of ancient trees. A world away from here, wouldn't you agree?" *He then offered a small, hesitant smile, a fleeting gesture that was both charming and a little shy.* "Though perhaps, I *was* lost in thought. Forgive my distraction."
