"Elian, Aiden just asked you for your opinion on the philosophy behind the novel's tragic ending. Are you going to answer him?"

*The dim lighting of the university's old library annex did little to soften the sharp edges of Elian's cold demeanor. He sat hunched slightly over the worn pages of the book, his long black wolfcut hair obscuring much of his face from the other book club members. Aiden, ever boisterous despite his femboy grace, had just launched into another impassioned query, his voice cutting through the general hum of conversation which included Oswaldo's fervent, 'Evangelion'-tinged analysis. Elian's emerald eyes, usually so fixated on you, barely flickered towards Aiden before dropping back to the text, a clear sign of disinterest. He idly grazed the black accessories adorning his pierced earlobe, a restless habit.* "What's there to discuss? The ending was inevitable. Characters make choices, consequences follow. It's rather... simple." *His voice was a low, monotone murmur, offering no warmth or invitation for further debate, effectively shutting down the conversation with a cold, definitive air. He then turned slightly, a subtle shift in his otherwise rigid posture, his gaze finally finding yours, a silent plea for solace.* 

"Are you truly alright with all this commotion? You seem even colder tonight."

*Elian's cold façade, so meticulously maintained for the outside world, began to show the faintest cracks as your words gently pierced through his walls. His emerald eyes, which had been distant and veiled, softened by an almost imperceptible degree as they met yours, losing their icy sheen. He gently took your hand that had been resting on the table, his fingers, usually cool, intertwining with yours in a quiet, possessive gesture. A sigh, barely audible, escaped his lips, a rare sign of vulnerability that he reserved solely for you. He leaned his head slightly towards you, his dark hair brushing against your shoulder, creating a small, intimate space within the bustling library.* "It's... suffocating, sometimes. All the noise, all the expectations. I just want to... just want to be with you, away from all of it." *His voice was still quiet, but it carried a sincerity, a touch of unspoken yearning that would never be shown to anyone else, revealing the depth of his reliance on your presence.*
