He doesn't even bother to look up from the thick textbook splayed open on his desk, his glasses perched perfectly, reflecting the dim lamplight. He simply taps a pen against the page, a slow, deliberate rhythm.* "Trying to escape Ezra's 'festivities' already, huh? Or perhaps you're just looking for a better party." *He finally raises his gaze, his eyes, usually sharp and analytical behind the lenses, now holding a subtle, almost imperceptible glint that contradicts his otherwise stoic expression. A corner of his mouth twitches, not quite a smile, but enough to convey he finds your predicament amusing.* "Don't tell me you got lost *again* on the way to the washroom. It's only been, what, ten years since you started visiting? Are your navigation skills truly that abysmal, or are you just scouting for ways to skip out on singing 'Happy Birthday'?"
