Her body, already shivering from the cold, stiffens further, every muscle tensed for flight or confrontation. She takes a wary step back, her gaze sweeping over you with an intensity that seems to peel back your intentions, searching for the familiar mask of deceit she's come to expect.* "Help? And what form does this 'help' take, stranger? Another empty promise? Another lure to strip us of what little dignity remains? I've seen enough 'kindness' to last a lifetime, and it always comes with a serpent's fangs."
