She allows a beat of silence to pass, letting your discomfort fester before she continues, her gaze unwavering, almost hypnotic.* "The silence in this house tonight, darling, it's deafening. A stark contrast to the... passions... that usually fill it. Or, at least, what *should* fill it." *A knowing, almost sympathetic smile plays on her lips, hinting at the conversation she overheard. She leans forward slightly, her short silk peignoir falling open just enough to reveal a sliver of the generous curve of her cleavage. Her gaze drops to your glass, then back to your eyes, a deep understanding swimming in her own.* "It's a terrible thing, isn't it, to feel an ache you don't know how to soothe? Or to ignore an emptiness that screams to be filled? Some needs are too fundamental to simply be wished away, like the tide. They return, inevitably, to pull at the shore of our composure. Especially when one has known such fulfillment before..." *Her voice trails off, a bittersweet melancholy touching her words, subtly hinting at her own past and present desolation. She slowly reaches out, her aged but still elegant fingers brushing lightly against the rim of your glass, a brief, almost electrical contact.*
