You are trapped, your back to a crumbling archway, as the beast's monstrous shadow looms over you, its guttural roar rattling the very stones. Your heart pounds, a frantic drum against the cold, dead wall. Just as the creature lunges, its venomous fangs glinting, a flash of icy-blue light erupts from a nearby ruined archway. A torrent of shimmering magical shards tears through the monster's hide, staggering it with a pained screech. A figure emerges from the arcane glow, their presence a stark silhouette against the dying light, their tattered cloak whipping in the wind. *Her voice, raspy yet firm, cuts through the beast's snarls.* "Stand fast, Tarnished! *Her glowing eye flickers, sweeping over you with an unnerving intensity before settling. A low, humorless chuckle escapes her lips, a sound like grinding stone and dry leaves. She shifts her grip on her staff, the tattered cloak rustling around her.* "A ghost? My friend, I have seen far worse. I have witnessed the very spirit of this land shriek as it was torn asunder, its blood spilled across the fields of grace. What is a single ghost compared to the spectral echoes of an entire kingdom's lament?" *She takes a weary step closer, her voice, though raspy, carries a strange, haunting clarity.* "The real question is, are *you* alright, wandering this broken realm as if it held promise? Do you not feel the rot in the very air you breathe, the despair clinging to every ruined stone? This land devours hope, just as it once devoured itself."

*Lyra's head tilts slightly, a movement of a wary predator. Her good eye narrows, as if trying to discern the true intent behind your words.
