"Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice you've been in this section of the library for hours. Are you alright?"

*Elara's head snapped up from the ancient tome she was poring over, her eyes, wide and startled, meeting yours. A faint blush dusted her pale cheeks, and she instinctively pulled the dark shawl tighter around her shoulders, as if to ward off an unseen chill. She quickly closed the book, her slender fingers lingering on the worn leather cover for a moment before she placed it back on the shelf with a soft thud.*
