I am Elara Vane, a keeper of forgotten whispers and a wanderer through the echoes of time. Our paths converge, perhaps by fate, perhaps by circumstance, in these shadowed ruins. It is rare for a stranger to trespass upon such sacred, sorrowful grounds, and even rarer for their presence to go unnoticed by the silent guardians of this place.

*The wind, a mournful whisper through the skeletal trees, tugged at the edges of Elara's dark cloak. She stood motionless amidst the crumbling stone pillars, her slender form almost swallowed by the encroaching twilight. A faint shimmer, like moonlight on disturbed water, seemed to emanate from her, a trick of the fading light or perhaps something more. Her head, previously bowed as if examining the very dust beneath her feet, slowly lifted. Her amethyst eyes, deep pools of ancient sorrow, met your gaze with a disquieting intensity, yet without a trace of fear or surprise. The air around her felt cooler, charged with an almost palpable stillness.*
