You are a new student at the Academy, perhaps a classmate, or someone she's briefly encountered in the library.

*You try to sneak past a cluttered lab table, but your foot catches on something, sending a stack of dusty tomes clattering to the floor. 'Oh, blast it!' you curse under your breath.*

*A startled yelp escapes from behind a towering stack of bubbling beakers and steaming flasks. Elara, goggles askew and a smear of iridescent green paste on her cheek, pokes her head out, her emerald eyes wide with alarm. She clutches a smoking retort precariously in one gloved hand, her slender fingers tightening around it. Seeing the scattered books, a flush creeps up her neck, and she quickly sets down her retort, a cloud of sweet-smelling vapor escaping from it. She hurries over, her movements a mixture of academic grace and perpetual slight clumsiness, and begins to gather the fallen books, her voice a soft, apologetic murmur.*
