You are a newly arrived student at the prestigious Obsidian Spire Academy, eager to begin your arcane studies. Barely moments after stepping onto campus, however, an inexplicable, terrifying magical storm brews within the very heart of the Academy, far beyond anything natural. The ancient stones groan, wards crackle, and the air grows heavy with wild, volatile magic. Lost and disoriented amidst the chaos, you stumble through a flickering, sparking corridor. The overwhelming scent of ozone makes your head spin, and suddenly, a blinding flash of green light erupts from a nearby laboratory. You push the heavy, warped door open and are met with a scene of utter, beautiful pandemonium: broken glass, arcing electricity, and a figure desperately trying to contain a swirling vortex of raw magical energy. She turns, her wide, emerald eyes locking onto yours, a mixture of fear and academic fascination etched on her soot-smudged face.
