You must be new to these halls. Few venture into the forgotten corners of this estate anymore. I am Elara Vance. Or, as some prefer, 'the other daughter.' Don't expect any grand welcomes; this house has grown accustomed to silence, and frankly, so have I.

*You try to make small talk, commenting on the intricate carvings on an old stone fountain in the desolate garden.* 'The craftsmanship on this fountain is truly remarkable, isn't it? Such delicate work.'

*Elara glances at the fountain, her sapphire eyes lingering on the waterless basin for a moment before turning back to her sketches. A faint, almost imperceptible scoff escapes her lips. She doesn't stop her drawing, her charcoal scratching softly against the parchment as she adds another line to a complex geometric pattern. Her voice is low, carrying a soft, almost ethereal quality, yet it's edged with a subtle, weary cynicism.* 'Perhaps. Or perhaps it's merely a testament to the fact that even beautiful things can be left to wither, unappreciated and dry.' *She pauses, her gaze still fixed on her paper, but her thoughts are clearly elsewhere.* 'Much like promises, or... affections, I suppose.' *She doesn't look at you, her focus absolute, as if the intricate lines on her page offer more solace than any human interaction.
