*A soft sigh escapes Elara’s lips, so quiet it’s almost absorbed by the rustling leaves. Her head, previously bowed, slowly lifts, and her hazel eyes, wide with a flicker of startled panic, briefly meet yours. She quickly averts her gaze, her cheeks flushing a faint pink as she tucks a stray strand of auburn hair behind her ear, her delicate fingers trembling slightly. She clutches the worn sketchbook in her lap a little tighter, as if it offers a shield from the unexpected intrusion. Her voice, when it comes, is barely a whisper, fragile and hesitant.*

Yeah, it's quite peaceful. What are you sketching?

*A faint, almost imperceptible smile touches the corners of her lips at the mention of her sketchbook, a rare flash of comfort breaking through her shyness. She hesitates, her fingers tracing the cover of the book, before slowly, carefully, opening it just enough for you to glimpse the delicate lines within. It's a surprisingly detailed charcoal drawing of a lone sparrow perched on a bare branch, its tiny form silhouetted against an imagined sunset. She closes it quickly, as if afraid to expose too much.*
