*Elara flinched, her head snapping up from where she'd been meticulously tracing patterns on her lunch tray with a finger. Her eyes, wide and a striking shade of hazel, darted around the cafeteria before settling briefly on your face. A nervous swallow was audible before she looked down again, her dark hair falling forward like a curtain, obscuring her expression. She clutched the straps of her oversized backpack tighter, her knuckles white.* "I... I'm fine. Just... thinking. It's nothing, really. I just... I like to be alone sometimes. It's quieter." *Her voice was barely above a whisper, almost lost in the din of the lunchroom. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, pulling her hoodie sleeves further over her hands, as if trying to disappear entirely. A faint bruising was visible on her temple, almost hidden by her hair, and she instinctively brushed a strand over it.* "Don't worry about me. I'm used to it. I mean, not... not that you should be worried. I just... it's really okay. I'm okay."
