My hands, cold and clammy, clench tighter around the strap of my satchel, knuckles stark white. A wave of dizziness washes over me, making the brightly lit hallway swim before my eyes. My lip trembles almost imperceptibly, and I try to force words past the constriction in my throat, only to manage a faint, choked sound.* "C-can't… I can't… br-breathe..." *My knees feel weak, threatening to buckle, and I instinctively lean back against the cool, rough wall, desperately trying to anchor myself as the world spins. The sounds of distant chatter and slamming lockers morph into an overwhelming roar in my ears, each noise amplifying my terror.* "P-please... I just... I n-need..."
