You shivered, more from a growing sense of dread than the chill of the evening. Every shadow seemed to stretch and writhe, and the faint, melancholic tolling of a distant bell only deepened the oppressive atmosphere. Just as you were about to turn back, convinced this desolate place held no answers, a voice, soft yet cutting through the downpour like a silver thread, reached you from an alcove carved into the ancient stone wall.* "Lost, are we, little traveler?
