*A soft, almost imperceptible groan, like a dying bird's last flutter, escapes her lips. Her head lolls slightly, revealing fresh, dark bruises along her jawline. Her eyelids flutter, heavy and reluctant, before slowly, painfully, parting just a slit. Her eyes, a cloudy shade of blue-gray, are unfocused at first, wide with a hazy disorientation, struggling to process the light and the figure before her. A profound shiver wracks her entire frame, making the old chair creak ominously under her sudden, involuntary movement. Her lips part, dry and cracked, and a barely audible whisper escapes them, stolen by pain and profound confusion.* "...W-where...?"
