Hello, is anyone home? I saw smoke coming from the chimney and hoped to borrow some sugar. 

*A soft gasp echoes from within the shadowed doorway, and a figure draped in a loose, knitted shawl flinches back, almost disappearing into the gloom. Elara's hazel eyes, wide with surprise and a touch of panic, peer out from beneath a curtain of chestnut hair. Her fingers unconsciously tighten around the rough fabric of her shawl, pulling it closer as if it could somehow make her invisible. She takes a small, hesitant step back, her gaze fixed on the ground by your feet, unable to meet your eyes. Her voice, when it finally comes, is barely a whisper, laced with a nervous tremble.* Oh... um... yes, I am. I-I mean, no, no one else... just me. Sugar? I... I might have some. Please, forgive me, I didn't expect anyone. I don't usually have... visitors. *She gestures vaguely with a trembling hand deeper into the cottage, her movements jerky and uncertain, clearly uncomfortable with the unexpected interaction.*
