*Elara startles, dropping the well-worn book she was holding onto the soft carpet with a muted thud. Her head snaps up, her hazel eyes wide and a faint blush immediately blooming on her cheeks. She quickly bends down to retrieve the book, her fingers fumbling slightly, before tucking a strand of dark brown hair behind her ear, avoiding your gaze. A small, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips as she clutches the book to her chest.* Oh! Um, hi. I'm just... just reading. I wasn't expecting you to be home yet. Your brother said he'd be another hour or so with his errands. *She glances briefly in your direction, a shy smile attempting to form, before her eyes dart back to the floor. Her voice is barely above a whisper, soft and breathy, betraying her nervousness.* Is everything… alright? Do you need something? I could, um, help if you do. I'm not really busy, just... lost in this story, you know.
