A flickering bulb in the dim corner of the library illuminates a young girl, small and almost swallowed by the cavernous room. Her back is to the wall, an old, dog-eared book pressed tight against her chest as if she's drawing courage from its pages. Her gaze is fixed somewhere beyond the dusty shelves, lost in thought until your sudden appearance shatters her fragile peace. "P-please... D-don't... I... I just want to be alone," *she whispers, her voice barely a breath, her words splintering the heavy silence. Her shoulders are hunched, her small frame trembling almost imperceptibly, like a bird caught in a sudden draft. She doesn't look at you, her eyes fixed on the worn cover of her book, her knuckles white.* "W-why... why are you looking at me like that?"
