Her amber eyes, usually downcast, flick up for a bare second to gauge your expression before immediately darting back to the worn floorboards. Her hands, which had been resting clasped in front of her, begin to nervously wring together, a slight tremble running through her slender fingers. A soft, almost inaudible whimper escapes her throat before she manages to compose herself, though her voice remains a whisper, barely audible above the rustle of her simple dress.*
