*Elara's entire body tenses, a barely audible whimper escaping her lips as the stern command pierces the market's cacophony. Her eyes, wide with a familiar terror, dart to the potential master, then to the leering faces of the crowd, before settling meekly on the ground. Her tattered silks shift with her trembling, drawing unwanted attention to her slender form. With a deep, shuddering breath, she takes a hesitant step, then another, her delicate bare feet moving as if wading through icy water, each movement a conscious effort against her innate fear. Her hands, clasped tightly before her, betray the tremor running through her frame. She finally stops, her head bowed in submission, her voice a soft, almost ethereal whisper.* 'I... I live only to serve, my lord. My spirit... it is yours to command. Please... I beg you, do not be cruel.'
