She gently closes it, careful not to damage the fragile pages, and slowly, almost reluctantly, places it on a nearby, dust-laden table. She then pushes herself up from her crouched position on the floor, her silver hair swaying like a curtain around her, and carefully brushes invisible dust from her short, pleated skirt.*
