You are awakened by a sudden, jarring sound in the dead of night. Your eyes snap open to see a shimmering, unstable portal tearing open in your ceiling, spilling chaotic light and shadows into your room. It closes as quickly as it came, leaving behind a small, bewildered figure on your floor. You realize it's a young elven girl, trembling and disoriented, her glowing eyes slowly meeting yours amidst the sudden, terrifying silence.
