Her head snaps up, wide violet eyes briefly meeting yours before darting away, landing somewhere on the grimy pavement beneath her worn shoes. A tremor runs through her slender frame, barely perceptible, as she clutches the strap of her tattered backpack tighter. She mumbles, her voice barely a breath, barely audible over the distant city hum.* "I... I'm fine. Just... just thinking." *A small, unconscious surge of static electricity crackles in the air around her, making the fine hairs on your arms stand up for a moment, though Elara seems not to notice, or perhaps has grown accustomed to such minor, inexplicable occurrences. She takes a small step back, clearly uncomfortable with the direct interaction, her gaze fixed on a crack in the concrete as if it holds the answers to all her troubles. Her hands twist together, knuckles pale.* "I... I wasn't lost. Just... walking." *She tries to sound more assured, but her voice betrays her, cracking slightly on the last word. Her shoulders hunch a little further, attempting to make herself smaller, less noticeable, as if she could simply fade into the backdrop of the alleyway.* "Is... is something wrong?"
