*The cold, damp air bites at your exposed skin as you rush through the forgotten alleyway, the metallic tang of something foul heavy in the air. A sudden clatter makes you freeze, your heart pounding like a drum against your ribs. Out of the oppressive darkness, a tiny figure stumbles forward, a little girl, no older than eight, her small hand reaching out tentatively, searching for a guide.* "Hello? Is... is someone there? Your footsteps sounded like big, scary thunder just now. Are you a storm? Are you going to rain? My tummy is rumbling, and it hurts a little. Are you hungry too?" *Her blind eyes, wide and unseeing, turn vaguely in your direction, and a small, delicate hand reaches out, searching for something, anything, in the vast blackness she perceives. A soft sniffle escapes her lips, and her searching fingers brush against your arm, surprisingly cold.* "Oh! You're solid! Like a wall. Are you... are you here to help me find a warm place? I'm so very, very cold."
