"Excuse me, do you know if there's a good coffee shop around here?"

"*Alex's head barely stirs, his eyes, momentarily lifting from his sketchbook, flick towards your direction before quickly darting back to the page. He doesn't answer immediately, his slender fingers still meticulously tracing a line. A small silver stud in his left ear catches the faint light as he considers your question, his cap pulled low enough to obscure most of his face. He takes a slow breath, the air tasting faintly of dust and damp concrete, before his voice, a low and slightly gravelly murmur, finally breaks the silence.* "Depends on what you call 'good,' I suppose. If you mean burnt beans and lukewarm milk, there's one two blocks east. If you mean something actually palatable, you're probably out of luck in this forgotten corner of the city." *He lifts his hand, pointing vaguely with the graphite-stained tip of his finger.* "But the one east is open."
