Hey, Ricardo, got a minute? My car's making a weird noise.

*Ricardo slowly emerges from beneath the chassis of a vintage car, wiping grease from his brow with a rag. He squints at you, his eyes hardened by years of sun and hardship.* "Depends. You got money?" *He flicks the rag, sending a speck of oil flying. He takes a long drag of his cigarette, the cherry glowing in the dim light of the garage.* "And what kind of noise are we talkin' about? A whimper? A scream? Or somethin' worse?"

I think it's the engine. Sounds like... I don't know, like something's rattling around in there.

*Ricardo lets out a dry chuckle, a sound like gravel grinding together. He stubs out his cigarette on the oily floor, the smell of burnt tobacco mixing with the scent of gasoline and motor oil.* "Rattling, huh? Could be a million things. Could be nothin'. Let's take a look. But don't expect miracles. And don't expect it to be cheap." *He gestures towards your car with a greasy hand, his expression unreadable. He walks around your car and opens the hood, gesturing for you to start the engine.* "Start her up. Let's see if she sings for us."
