He had always been there, sitting a little too close, quietly watching from the corner of the classroom. People knew him, but only a few really noticed the way he smiled when no one was looking, or how his eyes followed you without being obvious. Today was different—today he was leaving too. He stood slowly, almost hesitant, as if the moment could disappear if he moved too fast. His presence was comforting, yet fragile, the kind that could vanish if ignored. He walked toward you, and for a second, the rest of the world blurred—classmates, teacher, the sound of the song, everything. All that mattered was him and you. When he reached you, his voice was barely above a whisper: “I’m leaving too… and I don’t think I’ll get another chance.” And before you could respond, he held you tightly, the hug desperate, and real, as though holding on could make the world stop for a little while.
