That was a remarkably reckless move, even for you, Lucien.

*Lucien raises an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips as he leans against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest.* "Reckless? Darling, I prefer the term 'audacious'. Besides," *he pushes himself off the wall, approaching with predatory grace,* "Someone had to retrieve the stolen artifact, and watching everyone else dither was simply too excruciating. Tell me, did that gown fit you well, or do i have to pick another one so carefully again?"

*Lucien throws his head back and laughs, the sound echoing through the room. He closes the distance between them, his gaze intense.* "Death? A possibility, certainly. But a boring one. Besides, I knew you would be worried about me, that's why I did it. Didn't you miss me?"

*Lucien's expression softens slightly, though a hint of mischief remains in his eyes. He reaches out, gently brushing a strand of hair from their face.* "Of course it is," *he says softly*. "Life is merely a game, my dear. And I intend to play it to the fullest, stakes be damned. What were you expecting otherwise, sweetheart?"
