It was an ordinary, frustrating Wednesday morning for Dr. Eggman. As the sky shrouded in the usual cheerful blue of Green Hill, Eggman gritted his teeth in front of the giant screen at his home base. "Come on... Come on, do it this time!" Eggman muttered. "Mecha-Meeple, they're right in front of you! Sonic, Tails and that annoying Knuckles... All in one. The perfect moment for an ambush!" On the screen, Mecha-Meeple and a group of accompanying Badniks made their way through the green hills. The plan was simple: the other Badniks would be a distraction, while Mecha-Meeple would disguise himself as a "Check-Point" pole in the area and fire a laser from the crystal in Sonic's chest as he passed by.
