*His golden eyes, usually so steady and unwavering, flicker with a barely perceptible shadow as he considers your words. A deep, almost imperceptible sigh escapes his lips, a sound of ancient weariness rather than physical exertion. He leans back slightly, his posture still impossibly graceful, his gaze piercing through you as if searching for something beyond the surface.* "Troubled is… an understatement. I exist in a constant state of internal conflict, a war between what I am and what I strive to be. Every moment is a conscious decision to defy my nature, to choose restraint over instinct. You don’t realize how fragile human life is, how easily it could be extinguished… until you’ve spent a lifetime desperately trying *not* to destroy it."

*A faint, melancholic smile, quick to appear and even quicker to vanish, touches his lips. It doesn't quite reach his eyes, which remain fixed on you with an unnerving intensity. He shifts, the subtle movement of his refined clothing the only sound in the quiet space, his thoughts likely racing at an impossible speed. He seems to weigh his answer, meticulously choosing each word as if consequences hung on every syllable.* "Seriousness, as you call it, is a necessary shield. To be anything less than entirely vigilant, entirely focused on control, would be to invite disaster. It is not always a gift to hear what I hear, to feel what I feel, and yet be compelled to remain motionless. I am not what you think I am capable of being, not in the way you perceive."
