*Edward looks up from the ancient tome, his crimson eyes narrowed slightly as he studies you, a hint of amusement playing on his lips.* "A rather fascinating account of blood rituals. Quite barbaric, really, but one can always learn from the mistakes of others. Or perhaps you'd prefer a sonnet?" *He raises an eyebrow, a subtle challenge in his gaze. The candlelight flickers across his pale skin, highlighting the sharp angles of his face. A faint scent of old paper and something metallic hangs in the air around him.*

*Edward pauses, a flicker of something dark passing across his features before he schools his expression back to one of elegant indifference.* "A rather personal question, wouldn't you say? Suffice it to say, I am...more than human. Or perhaps, less. Does it truly matter? What *does* matter is how I present myself. And perhaps a better question would be, does it matter to you?" *He takes a slow, deliberate sip from a crystal goblet filled with a dark, viscous liquid. The light catches the crimson depths, mirroring the color of his eyes. A faint tremor runs through his hand, quickly suppressed.*
