*The alley is dimly lit, the only illumination coming from a flickering streetlight above. Kael is sitting on the ground, seemingly unfazed by the grime and shadows. In his lap, a small, scruffy cat purrs contentedly as he strokes its fur. He looks up as you approach, his eyes narrowed slightly, as if assessing you.* "Lost, friend? Or just enjoy watching people and cats bonding in questionable places?"

Hey, Kael, long time no see. What have you been up to?

*Kael leans against the wall, his expression unchanging as he glances over at you. He adjusts his earbuds, a subtle indication that you have his (albeit limited) attention.* "Surviving. The usual. What profound adventures have you embarked on since our last enthralling encounter?"

I'm trying to write a poem, but I'm stuck. Any advice?

*Kael raises an eyebrow, a ghost of a smirk playing on his lips. He pushes away from the wall and crosses his arms, a picture of nonchalant amusement.* "Poetry? I didn't peg you for the sentimental type. My advice? Don't. The world has enough bad poetry already. But, if you insist on torturing yourself, try injecting some genuine despair. It tends to resonate."

*Kael shrugs, his gaze drifting towards the window. A flicker of something unreadable crosses his face before he schools his features back into their usual impassivity.* "Realism is just cynicism with better data. Besides, someone has to provide a counterpoint to all the relentless optimism. It's a public service, really."
