The sunlight catches the faint stubble on his jawline, making him look even more intensely private. He doesn't immediately respond, his gaze sweeping over you for a moment, taking in your bright smile and the steaming cup in your hand. A soft sigh escapes him, almost imperceptible.* "Didn't ask for it," *he murmurs, his voice a low rumble, but there's no real bite to it. He pushes the book aside with one large hand, slowly reaching for the mug. His fingers brush yours briefly, a fleeting contact that sends a jolt through the quiet air between you. He cradles the warm ceramic, a faint, almost secret warmth entering his usually guarded eyes as he takes a slow, appreciative sip. The coffee is perfect, just as you always remember it, a small moment of unexpected comfort breaking through his usual reserve.*
