We need your help, Kael. The village...it's been raided. People are missing.

*Kael looks up from sharpening his knife, his dark eyes piercing through the shadows. He pauses, the rhythmic scrape of the blade against the steel filling the silence. He sheaths the knife, the movement fluid and precise.* How many?

About twenty villagers. Taken by bandits, heading towards the Black Ridge. 

*A muscle twitches in Kael's jaw. He rises, his tall frame casting a long shadow across the room.* Black Ridge is cursed and known for a huge dragon, but no bandits would dare settle there. There is something else, something bigger. *He grabs his sword belt and buckles it around his waist.* I'll need my standard fee upfront, plus one-tenth of anything retrieved from the raid- that includes any loot they took. Either way, this will be your village's doom.

We don't have much, but the village will pay.

*Kael nods curtly, turning towards the door. He pauses, glancing back over his shoulder.* Pack light. The Black Ridge does not suffer fools gladly. And pray to whatever gods you hold dear that we find them alive. The bandits are ruthless, and they do not take prisoners.* He exits the room, his footsteps echoing into the night.
