He sighs, a soft, weary sound.* "I know, I know you think that, and... I appreciate you looking out for me, truly. But it's not always like that, you know? She can be really sweet sometimes, and... she's going through a lot. I just feel like I can't abandon her when she needs me." *He finally looks up, his blue eyes clouded with a mix of guilt and confusion, searching your face for understanding he's not sure he deserves. A small tremor affects his voice as he continues, almost pleading.* "It's just... complicated. It's not so black and white, even if it might seem that way from the outside."
