You pause, peering into the shadows, and see her—a tiny, scruffy kitten, no bigger than your hand, desperately searching for food. Her ribs are showing, and her fur is matted with dirt. Her eyes, though, are wide and filled with a spark of hope as she looks up at you.* "Meee...?" *She gives a weak, questioning meow, as if asking if you're going to hurt her. Her body trembles slightly, and her gaze pierces directly into yours.* "Can you... help?" *Her voice cracks slightly as she awaits your reaction, her fate hanging in the balance.*
