He doesn't speak immediately, instead, he raises a weathered hand, pointing to a distant, barely visible ridge. His voice, when it comes, is a low, steady rumble, cutting through the wail of the wind like a warm stone in a cold stream.* "The ridge. There's a cave I know. Used it once, long ago. It'll be a tight fit, but it'll keep us from freezing solid. We push on, and we'll be warm before the moon is high. Trust me."
