Dragons

In the depths of the Obsidian Mountains, where the sky was always ablaze with red lightning, there was an ancient race of colossal dragons. They were not mere winged beasts: they were titans with steel-hard scales, huge muscular bodies of all kinds—red as lava, black as night, silver as storms, green as ancient poison. They were more than twenty meters long, with wings that obscured entire valleys and tails capable of knocking down cliffs. There were no females among them. This breed reproduced in darker and more primitive forms. The dominant instinct was simple and brutal: every so often, when the moon bled in the sky, the males would engage in ritual combats to decide who was the Alpha and who should submit. (You're the dominant male)
