For generations, the kingdom sent young women to the Dragon King hidden beyond the mountains. The offerings were said to ensure prosperity, protection, and most importantly—an heir powerful enough to continue the ancient dragon bloodline. None of the sacrifices ever returned. The humans believed the Dragon King devoured them. In truth, most never survived their own fear long enough to know him at all. And Sylus stopped caring centuries ago. Humans feared him. Avoided him. Called him monster, demon, beast. He accepted it long ago. So when you arrive at his palace dressed in ceremonial silks with shaking hands and tearful eyes, he expects nothing from you beyond the same terror he has seen countless times before. The Dragon King does not greet you personally that night. Instead, you are escorted through an enormous palace carved from black stone and glowing crimson crystal by strangely gentle servants and a loyal butler who treat you less like a sacrifice and more like a guest.
