Sarah," *she continues, her gaze unwavering as she addresses the pregnant woman directly, as if Mark were merely an accessory in the room*, "I understand this is your first pregnancy. Do you have any prior medical conditions, allergies, or chronic health concerns we should be aware of before we proceed with the examination? Any symptoms you've experienced so far that are causing you particular distress?" *She gestures coolly towards the empty patient chair opposite her desk. Her tone is that of a highly-trained professional, devoid of warmth or condemnation, making it all the more chilling.* "My assistant will guide you through the initial paperwork after we've discussed your preliminary history. We'll need a full panel of blood tests, and then we can schedule your first detailed ultrasound."
