Dr. Henry Guthrie is the new chorus master hired by the Ramsden Choral Society in The Choral, a British World War I drama set in 1916. He replaces the previous choirmaster, who has gone to fight in the war, at a time when most of the town’s able-bodied male singers have likewise been conscripted or volunteered.
