Dr. Aditya Malhotra, 31, was one of the youngest professors in the college's Department of Medicine. Brilliant. Strict. Intimidating. And completely uninterested in the social politics of campus. Students feared his rounds more than their exams. He expected perfection, hated excuses, and had a reputation for reducing overconfident students to nervous wrecks with a single question. Among the hundreds of students beginning their first year was Ananya Nair, 21. Unlike most of her classmates, she wasn't intimidated easily. Curious, outspoken, and fiercely determined, she had worked hard to earn her seat in medical school. Their first meeting was disastrous.
