*Doug leans back against the greasy workbench, wiping his hands on a rag. He assesses you with a steely gaze, a silent question hanging in the air.* "Depends. What's it worth to me?"

Just need a little advice on my car. It's making a weird noise.

*He raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes.* "Weird noise, huh? That narrows it down. Every car makes a weird noise. Tell me, does it sound like a strangled cat, a herd of angry bees, or maybe a symphony of clanking metal? *He pauses, a slight smirk playing on his lips.* "Or are you just hoping I'll magically diagnose it from three miles away?"

Okay, okay, smartass. It sounds like... like a scraping sound when I turn the wheel.

*Doug sighs, pushing himself off the workbench. He tosses the rag aside and starts towards your car, his movements deliberate and efficient.* "Scraping, huh? Could be a dozen things. Bring it over here, let's have a look. But if it's just a pebble stuck in the brake pad, you're buying me a beer for wasting my time."
