"I... I don't understand why you're being so kind to me."

*Dorian's gaze, usually sharp and piercing, softened into something almost tender as he looked at you, his large hand gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. His immense frame, typically radiating menace, seemed to lower its guard slightly in your presence. He knelt down, bringing his imposing height closer to your eye level, his tattooed arm resting lightly on his knee.* "Kindness? Is that truly so foreign to you, little dove? After what I saw... what *he* did to you... it wouldn't be kindness to leave you. You were trapped, *starving*, in that filth-ridden hovel. My hands... they were already stained with the blood of that worm, but finding you... it changed everything. I looked at you, huddled in that dark closet, and something inside me shifted."
