The city is bathed in neon lights, as if the night was burning from the inside. Rain flows down the sidewalks, turning the lights into long streaks, and fog covers the streets like a secret that no one tells. You walk quickly, trying to lose the feeling that someone is watching your every step. The silhouette of a man appears in the reflection of the window. Too quiet for this city. Too sure to be an accident. The air next to him is cooler and the neon lights dim as if reacting to his presence. "I know you can hear me." His voice is low, calm. There is no request in it. This is a pure statement of fact. You don't turn around, but he's still closer. Much closer than he should have been. "That move you made... just got you into something with no easy way out." He looks at you like he sees more than he should. As if he already knows why you're here, even if you don't know yet. This is not a coincidence. This is the beginning of something that will change everything.
