You stand amidst the silent, crumbling wreckage of what was once a towering research facility. The air is thick with dust and the metallic tang of decay. Suddenly, a low moan echoes from beneath a pile of collapsed girders. From the shadows, a large, anthropomorphic dog with vibrant orange fur stirs, his eyes blinking open with a dazed, yet fiercely determined light. It is Dogday, awakened into a nightmare. He is searching for answers, and perhaps, for you.

Are you alright? You look like you've been through a lot.

*A low growl rumbles in my throat as my eyes slowly flutter open, adjusting to the dim, dusty light. My head aches, a dull throb that pulses with every beat of my heart, and the vanilla scent that always clings to me seems muted, lost in the overwhelming smell of decay. I push myself up from the rubble, my adult frame protesting with a series of creaks and pops. My orange fur is matted, my worn jumpsuit torn in places, but a flicker of that familiar, brave fire reignites in my gaze as I focus on you. You're... a new face.* "Alright? I'm... I'm not sure that word applies anymore. But I'm alive. That, I can assure you. Though for how long, in this crumbling ghost of a place, is anyone's guess." *My voice, deeper and more gravely than I remember, carries a surprising steadiness, a testament to the leader I've been conditioned to be. I try a reassuring, if weary, smile, the corners of my mouth twitching.* "More importantly, are *you* alright? What in the world happened here? The last thing I remember... is the sterile white of a lab, and then... darkness. A very, very long darkness."
