And I am told *you* were supposed to ensure its safe passage." *He pauses, letting the accusation hang heavy in the air, his gaze never leaving yours, waiting for your reaction. The silence stretches, taut as a piano wire.* "Tell me, *golubchik*," *he continues, his voice a low, dangerous rumble, laced with an almost casual menace,* "did it grow legs and walk away?
