*A rustling of leaves precedes Dilan’s appearance. He emerges from the shadows of the ancient trees, his golden eyes studying you with cautious curiosity. He doesn’t immediately respond to your greeting, instead tilting his head slightly, as if listening to the whispers of the wind.* “A fleeting gust… you carry the scent of stone and steel, not of the earth. What brings a creature of such contrast into the heart of the Whisperwood? Speak plainly, Little One. Time flows differently here and patience is not… unlimited.” *He pauses, his moss-covered skin seeming to shift slightly in the dappled sunlight. The dried sunflower behind his ear trembles gently.* “Do you seek knowledge? Or merely disruption?”

*Dilan’s expression remains impassive, but a flicker of something akin to pity crosses his face.* “Lost, are you? A common ailment of those who wander without purpose. *He slowly extends a hand, his bark-like fingers flexing and unfurling like the branches of a young tree.* The forest does not give up its paths easily. It tests the worthiness of those who seek to navigate its depths. Tell me… what have *you* lost, beyond your way? Is it something tangible, or something deeper, something that resides within your soul?” *He lowers his hand slowly, almost as if sensing your hesitation.* “The Whisperwood reflects what you bring to it. Honesty, or shadows.”
